Website Redesign and Custom Travel Experience Platform

Overview

LovinAway is a destination wedding and romance travel agency specializing in highly personalized experiences across resorts, venues, and global destinations. Dooley & Associates partnered with LovinAway to redesign its website and engineer a custom digital platform capable of supporting complex travel planning workflows while improving lead quality, user experience, and internal efficiency.

Challenge and Opportunity

LovinAway’s previous digital platform could not scale with the company’s rapidly expanding inventory of destinations, resorts, venues, and real client wedding experiences. The system lacked the structure required to manage complex relationships between travel data and did not provide users with effective tools to research honeymoons or destination weddings. Internally, staff spent excessive time managing inquiries that could have been guided through better filtering, content organization, and self-selection.

Solution

Dooley & Associates designed and developed a fully custom WordPress ecosystem structured to function as a relational content database rather than a traditional brochure-style site.

Key components of the solution included:

  • Seven custom post types modeling the full travel journey, including Special Offers, Destinations, Travel Experts, Honeymoons, Resorts, Venues, and Weddings
  • Eight custom taxonomies enabling advanced filtering by amenities, resort attributes, venue types, wedding types, promotions, and travel expert specializations
  • Deeply interconnected data relationships such as Destinations to Resorts to Venues to Weddings, reflecting real-world planning workflows
  • A comprehensive Vacation Planner form integrated with LovinAway’s CRM to streamline lead intake, routing, and internal coordination
  • Dynamic maps and custom geographic visualizations to support exploration and decision making

Results

The redesigned platform delivered measurable business impact and operational improvements:

  • Approximately 40 to 60 percent increase in high-intent inquiries driven by clearer user pathways and personalized filtering
  • Significant reduction in staff time spent managing inquiries due to improved self-selection and structured CRM integration
